Xi Jinping Meets with President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan

Xi Jinping said, under the current situation, the strategic significance of China-Kazakhstan cooperation has gone more prominent. You will visit China and attend the CICA summit in May this year. I'm looking forward to continuing our in-depth discussions on bilateral relations and major international and regional issues, working together to boost cooperation in economy, trade, energy, agriculture and other areas. China is willing to make joint efforts with Kazakhstan to ensure more substantial outcomes for the visit. Xi Jinping said, China and Kazakhstan, as the countries of presidency-in-waiting of the CICA and that first proposed the CICA, must cooperate closely to push for the establishment of the new security concept in Asia and build a new framework of security and cooperation in Asia, making a greater contribution to the peace and security in Asia.

Nursultan Nazarbayev said that President Xi Jinping's visit to Kazakhstan last year has greatly boosted the development of bilateral relations. All the important consensus they reached at that time is being steadily implemented. Kazakhstan is the sincere and reliable partner of China and wishes China a success for comprehensively deepening reform. The Kazakh side is willing to strengthen practical cooperation with China in all areas and assist in China's development. He highly praised the preparation for the CICA summit, and believed that the summit will be a success. He is looking forward to the visit to China and the attendance of the summit.

Both sides also had an exchange of views on the current situation in Ukraine. They agreed that the Ukrainian issue should seek a political settlement through dialogue and negotiation in the framework of law and order. China and Kazakhstan will maintain communication and coordination in this regard.
